Our fully custom doll head service was launched by PleiDoll to meet clients’ demands for the ultimate in personalization. As an experienced OEM manufacturer, we have extensive contract-manufacturing and product-development expertise. To date, we’ve served over a hundred clients seeking top-tier customization, and have helped many of them bring highly popular new products to market.

1.3 Current Technical Routes & Their Pros and Cons
We offer three main sculpting workflows:

Pros: Master carvers bring decades of experience and the finest sculpting skills.

Cons: Quality depends heavily on the modeler’s skill. While junior designers may lack the nuanced expertise of veteran clay sculptors, demand is driving rapid skill gains among digital artists.

Pros: Lowest cost; files are instantly editable and stored digitally.

Cons: Current fidelity is modest—suitable only for clients with lower detail requirements or tight budgets.

1.4 Production Lead Time
Because each head is uniquely crafted, lead times vary by client requirements. Industry benchmarks place delivery between 15–45 days.
1.5 Expected Fidelity
Final results hinge on three factors: the quality and variety of reference photos provided, the artist/modeler’s skill, and the chosen workflow.

Clay Carving: Up to 90% likeness—highest fidelity, but highest cost.

3D Modeling: Around 85% likeness; offers live-render previews and on-the-fly edits.

AI Modeling: Approximately 60% likeness; cost-effective but lower detail.
Ultimately, the single biggest determinant is your reference material; next is the sculpting method; and once sculpted, the hand-applied makeup will at least match our mass-production heads.

3. Production Workflow & Timeline

3.1 Finalizing Requirements
Your chosen options determine overall complexity, timeline, and material costs. Once confirmed, we’ll provide a precise production schedule and quote.
3.2 Body Confirmation
Please select a body or supply neck-joint dimensions from your existing doll. If you need us to source a body, let us know—ideally before we begin head design.
3.3 Head Sculpting & Production
